Una est originaire d'Irlande du Nord et a fait des études de français et d'histoire en Angleterre, où elle a commencé à s’impliquer dans le milieu associatif et à participer à des manifestations auprès des centres de rétention. Elle y a aussi fait l’expérience de la vie en maison coopérative et participait dans ce cadre à la mise en place d’un centre d’accueil pour des migrants sans abri. Elle a poursuivi son engagement envers les migrants en participant aux actions du réseau No Border en Angleterre et à Calais.

Le projet de Migreurop (http://www.migreurop.org) l’a de suite intéressée car cela mêlait ses divers champs de compétences et ses domaines d’intérêt. Elle parle russe et est déjà allée en Russie.
Una et son vélo prennent le train pour la Géorgie et seront accueillis par l’association Human Rights Centre. Elle va s’intéresser la situation des étrangers migrants vers l’Europe et contribuer à créer des liens entres structures travaillant sur ces questions. Una désire accroître sa compréhension des mécanismes européens en terme de contrôles des frontières.
